John Sheridan isn`t alone in his appointment as Chesterfield manager. Tommy Wright and Mark Crossley will be joining the ex Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United midfielder at Saltergate next season.

Wright spent time alongside Sheridan at Oldam as his assistant manager and he will resume that position at Saltergate, after Lee Richardson`s assistant Scott Stellers`s being refused an extension on his contract.

The only ever person to stop a Matt Le Tissier penalty will become the new player`s coach at Saltergate. Crossley, who was released by Fulham at the end of the 2006-07 season, joined Oldham and slowly worked his way up to a coaching role within the club. Crossley will be remembered by Spireites fan during the 1996-97 FA Cup run, which saw Chesterfield defeat Nottingham Forest along the way, with Crossley being sent off during their encounter.

Shane Nicolson will remain on as fitness coach, with Jamie Hewitt and Dave Thompson continuing their roles at the club.
