There’s little let up for Chesterfield as we’re swiftly back in league 1 action, although we’re away this time.

Chesterfield face Preston North End at Deepdale this evening looking to keep up our early season progress in league 1 against a side that many might have expected to be where we are!

Preston will definitely be without Andy Little (muscle) and Jordan Hugill (suspension) after an injury and sending off respectively in the three-one defeat at Walsall on Saturday. A number of players, including Kevin Davies (bruised ribs) are injury concerns.

Preston are unbeaten at Deepdale since December, so we’ll want to retain that record.

Gary Roberts (hamstring) suffered injury in the first half of our four-one win at the ProAct Stadium against Scunthorpe United at the weekend, which was the only negative of the afternoon so he’ll miss the next couple of weeks.

Daniel Johnson could keep his place after replacing him at the weekend but Armand Gnanduillet, Jay O’Shea, Ollie Banks and Gboly Ariyibi could also be other options.

Jack Broadhead (suspension) could return but Sam Hird (knee) continues to miss out.
