Chesterfield are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Chesterfield in the four two victory over Port Vale at the weekend at the Proact Stadium was enough to earn Danny Wilson a place in the side as manager of the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Wilson was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Wilson guided Chesterfield to a second-half comeback against Port Vale to secure three crucial points towards Sky Bet League 1 safety. A double substitution at the break paid dividends as Gboly Ariyibi and Jay O`Shea sparked the fightback which saw the Spireites run out 4-2 winners.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Wilson for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

Scott Flinders (York City), Frankie Kent (Colchester United), Stephen Darby (Bradford City), Chris Basham (Sheffield United), Robert Snodgrass (Hull City), Grant Leadbitter (Middlesbrough), Harry Beautyman (Peterborough United), Lee Frecklington (Rotherham United), Matty Taylor (Bristol Rovers), Will Grigg (Wigan Athletic), Ollie Watkins (Exeter City).

Manager – Danny Wilson (Chesterfield).
