The Spireites face a team in top form when they take on Burton. The Brewers have won 6 out of their last 8 matches, they are fourth in the table. They also have a great home record, having won 14, drawn 3 and lost 2. They are a physical side that play direct football, although they don’t have a big budget they play to their strengths and they have built a tight unit that are well organised.

Midfielder Lee Fowler will go straight into the squad after arriving on Thursday from Doncaster on-loan.

Match Facts & Stats

The Spireites have not won at Burton in the League although they have only played them twice, drawing 2-2 and then losing 1-0 the last time they visited the Pirelli.

The Brewers record taken from the first half of the season, they had scored from 14 shots from outside of the box, from 8 different players. I don’t think the Spireites have had that many shots on goal from outside the box.

They had also scored the most goals from direct free kicks in league 2.

Ref Watch:

Lee Collins is in charge of this game, this will be the first time he has refereed a game involving the Spireites this season. Although he has refereed a match involving the Brewers when they lost 4-1 at Gillingham, booking 3 players. The last time he was in charge of a game involving the Spireites was their 3-2 defeat last season at Wycombe, booking 2 players. In 21 games this season he has given out 64 yellows and 8 reds.

Match Prediction:

I’m going to go for a 2-0 win for Burton Albion because I feel they have a really strong team and a very good home record. Although the Spireites are putting a really good team together they are not quite the finished article.
