Spireites through to next round

League One side Walsall were beaten 2-1 at the Bescot Stadium on Tuesday night as Chesterfield ensured their passage into the next round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Jordan Bowery and Dean Morgan, with his first goal for the Spireites, netted either side of a Reuben Reid equaliser for the home side.

The road to Wembley remains open for Chesterfield, with second round ties taking place on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th October.
