Chesterfield made it two wins in a row in League One with a hard-fought Friday night victory over Bournemouth at the b2net Stadium.

New signing Liam Ridehalgh netted the only goal of the game to lift the Spireites off the bottom of the table.

Just under 7,000 watched John Sheridan’s side move to within two points of safety ahead of Saturday’s games.

Attention will then turn to the JPT second-leg tie with Oldham which gives Chesterfield a chance of a Wembley final.

Reaction to Friday night’s game to follow on Vital Chesterfield.
