Sam Morsy 21, the midfielder made 72 League appearances, scoring 4 goals for Port Vale. He joined the Port Vale youth Academy in 2008 after being released by Wolves. He won the Youth Player of the Year in 2010.

He established himself in the first team in the 2010/11 season, winning the Young Player of the Year. Last season he helped the club win Promotion from League 2, although he missed a lot of games through suspension because of poor discipline.

He had big run in with the Manager Micky Adams after a two footed challenge on Rochdale’s Jason Kennedy resulted in a straight red, after leading 2-0 they ended up drawing 2-2. Adams was fuming, he fined him 2 weeks wages and called him a ‘coward’ , Morsy issued an apology.

Adams kept Morsy out of the first team picture for 6 weeks after the incident and Morsy talking to the club website said: ‘I missed some important matches and that makes you re-evaluate your game.’

Lets hope Morsy who has a poor discipline record as learned his lesson and hopefully if he does sign for the Spireites he will change his ways. He received 9 yellows and one red card during the 2012-13 season.

He is an ‘enforcer’ who relies on his tackles to break-up play, he could be the kind of player the Spireites need, because they do lack steel in midfield.
