Midfielder makes Chesterfield move

Chesterfield made it a nap hand of summer signings on Monday when sealing a deal for midfielder Sam Togwell.

Togwell, formerly of Barnsley, is a free agent after the expiry of his contract with Scunthorpe United. Manager Alan Knill allowed the player to leave despite him being a regular in the 2011/12 season.

Togwell told Chesterfield’s official website: “There’s a lot of ambition with the club and it certainly matches my ambition.”
