Lead scorer Jack Lester has been issued a three match ban from the FA following the strikers sending off in the 78th minute against Accrington Stanley last weekend.

Chesterfield`s captain was shown the red card from referee Oliver Langford, who described the reason behind Lester`s dismissal was for making a rude gesture towards the linesman.

The 33 year old will miss the last match of the season against Bradford City on Saturday and the first two first team competitive matches of next season.

Lester has hit the back of the net 20 in the league this season, taking his tally up to 23 in all competitions and is currently the leading marksman in league two.

With no league status on the agenda for Saturday`s clash against Bradford City, Lee Richardson could use the opportunity to give youngster Scott Boden a rare start upfront partnering Martin Gritton.

Even Jordan Bowery, who has this week signed a one year professional contract after coming through the ranks of Dave Bentley`s youth winning side, could possibly make some sort of appearance.
