Cook beat off a host of clubs wanting to sign the young forward. Ben (Brennan Dickenson) joined Albion from Dorchester in January 2012. He has yet to make an appearance for the first team.
Gus Poyet told seagulls.co.uk, ‘There was a lot of interest and it will be good for him to play regularly in the Football League. He is strong and very quick, which makes a big difference at that level’. It is great that he as chosen Chesterfield, hopefully it will prove to be a very good move for the player in terms of his development and for the club to help them climb the table.
He can play either flank or in the middle and upfront. He gives cook plenty of options. Cook speaking to the club website said: ‘He’s a very energetic, left-sided midfielder or left sided striker who will bring a lot of balance to the team and a lot of energy going forward.’
Since the start of the season the Club have needed a natural left sided winger, hopefully this will be the final piece in the jigsaw. He will go straight into the squad for the game at Bristol Rovers, subject to the relevant paperwork being completed.
