Long Eaton United were formed in 1956 and have played at Grange Park since their founding, which as a capacity of 2,000 (180 seated). Nicknamed The Blues they currently play in step 5 of the non-league pyramid in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division and sit 14th place.

They are currently managed by Charlie Palmer, who stated is football career as a player at Watford, managed by Graham Taylor, he made 18 appearances including 4 in the UEFA Cup. He then went to Derby County who were managed by ex Spireite boss Arthur Cox. He later signed for Notts County managed by Neil Warnock and he is remembered for scoring the winning goal against local rivals Nottingham Forest.

Players to watch out for tonight are Blaine Hancock, the 20 year old midfielder has a good eye for goal and also a quality set piece taker. Striker Shaun Pickford is a strong and powerful centre forward who is good in the air and is currently the captain of the team. Matt Savage is a quick and tricky striker who can also play on the outside of a main Centre Forward.

Long Eaton United won the Derbyshire Senior Cup in 1965 beating Alfreton 1-0 and then 11 years later they won it again by beating Matlock Town.

Paul Cook will be looking to put out a strong team after recent postponement s due to the weather. Sam Morsy and Jimmy Ryan will be hoping to feature after recovering from their injuries.
